When treason has been committed
against the souls in your care
because of the truth that was
taught in Sunday pulpit school—
When harm has been done to those
growing in faith towards an
understanding of grace that
relies on conforming to the rules—
When sin was committed
against brother, sister, sibling
in the name of discipleship
and biblical theological teaching—
Who will hold me accountable
in the years after
when I don’t know the trauma
inflicted in the name of God?
This might be a season you need a spiritual companion to walk with you for a little bit of the journey. Maybe to heal from religious trauma. Maybe to figure out your relationship with God. Maybe something else. Whatever it is, I'd like to walk beside you.
